The Farm
Twisted Willows is an historic, 30 acre high country property which traces its routes to the late 19th century.ย
Located in Black Springs, a small settlement just twenty minutes drive from Oberon, the farm sits at an altitude of 1200 metres above sea level.
Our farming goal is to be fully self-sufficient and to operate in a way that cares for the animals and the environment.ย
- We follow humane, organic farming and horticultural practices so our food is chemical, hormone and stress free
- We nourish our animals and our land, carrying only as much livestock as the property can comfortably sustain.
Our Animals
We raise a variety of animals at Twisted Willows, including beef, lamb, pork, chickens, ducks, geese and guinea fowl.ย
Our number one priority is the wellbeing of our animals because we believe if they’re happy and healthy, our customers will be too. That’s why all our animals free-range on seasonal grasses, plants, fruits, vegetables and grains.
As certified Angus producers and members of Australian Pork Limited, you can have confidence that we meet the highest quality Australian standards.
Lowline Angus
Our Australian Lowlines, which have pure Aberdeen Angus ancestry, are grown and finished on fresh seasonal grass to ensure we produce healthy, superior quality and great tasting free-range beef products.
Pigs
Selectively bred, our heritage pigs forage in fresh pasture, snack on ripe fruit, run, dig, scratch, and roll around in mud, just as nature intended. Because happy, healthy pigs make for the finest pork.
Ducks & Geese
We have a variety of ducks and geese, each selected for their specific qualities and taste. They free-range on terrestrial and aquatic grasses, as well as nutritious fruits, vegetables and grains.
Damara
Originating in northern Africa and the Middle East, Damara are renowned for their ability to thrive in even the toughest of environments while maintaining excellent health, condition and quality.
Guinea Fowl
Independent and free-roaming, our guinea fowls spend their days hunting insects, bugs, spiders, snails and other small animals. Their natural, high-protein diet ensures an exceptional game quality.
Paddock to Plate Events
Whether you’re celebrating a birthday, a wedding, a work event or just visiting the area with family and friends,ย host your next event at Twisted Willows and savour the taste of our fresh, free-range food.
We typically offer Paddock to Plate catering for groups of up to 20 but can make arrangements for larger groups upon request.
All events include a tour of the farm and a selection of delicious food and produce grown right here at the farm.
